Special Class Railway Apprentice (SCRA) Recruitment

SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentice) is the apprenticeship programme of four yrs duration which is administered and governed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).The UPSC recruitment examination notification for Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination, 2014 (SCRA 2014)the exam will be held on 12th January, 2014 in accordance with the Rules by the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board). The approximate number of vacancies (42) to be filled on the results of the examination.

Educational Qualification:
Students must have passed with 1st or 2nd division in class 12th and have studied compulsory subjects like Mathematics and the Chemistry Physics as in the qualifying exam.The same subjects restriction applies on the Bachelors programme also.Candidates who have passed the 1st or 2nd yr of graduation with minimum 55%/60% marks in the said subjects above can also apply provided that the degree programme must be recognized from the University.Candidates holding Engineering diplomas are not eligible for the exam.
 
Age Limit: 
17 years and must not have attained the age of 21 years on 1st January, 2014, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1993 and not later than 1st January, 1997.
 
Application Fees:
Candidates of open class and OB class required to pay Rs 100 only through the specified modes of payments while rest of the categories (Girls also) are free from the charges.
 
How to Apply:
The completion of Registration process will be through online way. Candidates need to register themselves for the Exam through visiting the official website of the UPSC from dated 5th October, 2013 to 4th November, 2013. The registration process will be considered completed if he/she fills all the particulars related to personal, educational and transactional details etc provided in the form. The fee can be paid through depositing challan form/Registration Form in any State Bank of India or its associate banks branch. Usingof SBI net banking or Visa/Master Cards can also be availed by the candidates for making paymen
 
Exam Pattern:
The exam paper consists of the three major sections of total 600 marks. This includes GA (General Ability) test of marks 200 & time limit 120 minute which comprises G.K, English and Psychological questions. The second paper is Physical Sciences of marks 200 time limit 120 minute which contains the questions related to Chemistry Physics. The last section is Mathematics with 200 marks & time duration of 120 minutes.Marks will be deducted for the negative answers. The paper will be in English medium and it is at the discretion of the Commission to attach the criteria of the sectional or total cutoffs marksfor the subjects.
